Juvenes Translatores: Take part in the 2025-2026 contest

What is Juvenes Translatores?

Each year since 2007, the European Commission’s DG Translation has run the Juvenes Translatores contest in schools across the EU. This translation contest gives young people a taste of what it’s like to be a translator, encourages them to learn foreign languages, and may inspire some of them to become professional translators.

Who can take part in this year’s contest?

Secondary school students born in 2008.

Around 3,000 teenagers from over 700 secondary schools participate every year.

See below the list of randomly selected schools. The selection is final and cannot be contested. However, if a selected school withdraws or is unable to participate, and time and resources allow, the quota for the country may be filled by a second randomly drawn school from that country. In such cases, the list published on the website may not be updated, but the school will be informed directly (Contest Rules, Chapter 3. Selection of Schools).
