Traineeships at DG Translation
Every year, we offer paid 5-month traineeships in our Brussels and Luxembourg offices to around 100 university graduates.
What you'll do
Depending on your profile, you may
- translate from 2 EU languages into your main language
- work with experienced translators
- learn EU translation processes and tools
- help the Commission communicate with the public, so that people understand EU policies
- contribute to language technology and AI projects
- gain experience in a multilingual, multicultural environment.
On top of traineeships in the field of translation and linguistics, we offer traineeship opportunities in areas such as AI, data science and language technology, communication and event organisation, finance, and legal affairs.
Who can apply
To be eligible for a traineeship at DG Translation, you must
- hold a university degree by the application deadline
- not have worked – or been a trainee – at an EU institution for more than 6 weeks
- have excellent knowledge of English, French or German (C1/C2 level)
- have at least B2-level knowledge of a 2nd EU official language
- be able to translate into your main language (normally your mother tongue) from 2 other EU official languages.
