Translation and Usability

Usability – or the ability for consumers to use items effectively – is central to the success of products and the companies that create them. Translation is therefore a foundational component of creating usable products for global markets.  By understanding the overlap between translation and usability individuals in both fields can play a greater role in product design and development. This understanding can also provide translators and usability professionals with new ways to display the value they can contribute to global organizations.  Such factors can be foundational to job security and professional success in the modern marketplace. The event will cover topics which include, but are not limited to, the usability of translation, translation as product, translating for different types of target audience, and others.
