International Translation Day seminar on translation careers

Is a university degree enough to prepare you for a career as a translator? And can an experienced translator rely on 20 years of professional experience in every translation situation, or must translators continually adapt to new developments and innovations?

This multilingual workshop will explore how education, technological developments and professional experience shape the work of translators. Speakers will also discuss the extent to which translation skills can be taught and the role of professional development, self-learning and individual initiative in keeping pace with a changing profession.
