Clear writing for Europe is a chance to exchange ideas for ways to communicate more clearly in writing with the citizens of Europe, to share experiences and to learn about the EU institutions' work in this area.
Our main goals for this conference were to:
- raise awareness about the importance and benefits of clear writing and emphasise the need for clear and inclusive language
- promote cooperation, improve knowledge sharing and exchange best practices.
The Clear Writing for Europe 2021 conference was hosted by the team within the Commission’s Directorate-General for Translation behind the clear writing campaign. The team is working in partnership with other EU institutions to showcase EU efforts on clear and effective written communication with EU citizens.
Clear Writing for Europe 2021 was a chance to look to the future and see what we can all to do to promote a clear writing culture in Europe.

Clear writing for Europe will be a chance to exchange ideas for ways to communicate more clearly in writing with the citizens of Europe, to share experiences and to learn about the EU institutions' work in this area.
The conference will be held over two days on 13 and 14 October 2021. It will be an opportunity to:
- raise awareness about the importance and benefits of clear writing and emphasise the need for clear and inclusive language
- promote cooperation, improve knowledge sharing and exchange best practices.
