Words matter – in texts, but also as linguistic data and in termbases.
How can language professionals make the best of the data and tools available to them? What is the impact of generative AI on the translation profession? Should we rethink how we brand ourselves? How can AI help terminology management? And how can terminology work support AI? Where does terminology fit in the translation workflow?
These questions and many more were the topics of discussion of the 2024 Translating Europe Forum. Professionals from all over the world, in person or online, explored the role of terminology, linguistic data and technology in the translation profession.
I don’t want translators to post-edit AI output. I want them to help create better tools that react adequately to linguistic problems.
