Multilingualism workshops

DG Translation organises multilingualism workshops year-round across the EU. Topic areas include language diversity and skills, language technologies and AI-based tools, terminology, the development of the translation and language professions, and how translation contributes to society.

Who are they for? 

Audiences vary depending on the topic, from students, teachers and researchers to language professionals, technologists, jobseekers and general language enthusiasts. 


Types of workshops 

  • job fairs
  • seminars, lectures and debates
  • demos of AI-based language tools
  • presentations of annual European Language Industry Survey results
  • events celebrating translation and languages (e.g. International Translation Day, anniversaries of EU official languages)

Format and languages 

  • hybrid or in-person
  • in English or the local language(s), or both
  • free of charge (registration may be required)
